Feature update: Program cancellation status improvements (Updated)

This is an update to a previous support blog post.

NEW: Remove Legacy Cancelled status

On 2025-Nov-27, all programs with the status Legacy Cancelled will be automatically changed to Cancelled. The Legacy Cancelled status will no longer exist.

When a program's status is changed from Legacy Cancelled to Cancelled, any associated room blocks will be removed.

A change log entry will be created for each status change - one entry for each program that had its status changed from Legacy Cancelled to Cancelled.

Updated original post

The workflow to cancel a program has been updated to include additional automation and to be consistent with similar actions in the app.

Previous behaviour

When you cancelled a program (moved it to the trash), you had to manually change its status to Cancelled.

You could also change a program's status to Cancelled without actually moving it to the trash.

New behaviour

Effective 2025-Nov-05, when you cancel a program, its status is automatically set to Cancelled.

When you restore a cancelled program, its status is automatically changed to Confirmed. If needed, you can then change the status to another value.

You can no longer change the status of an active program to Cancelled using the status selector. To cancel, you must use the Edit Program > Actions dropdown to select Cancel.

When you restore a cancelled rental, its status is automatically changed to Lead. If needed, you can then change the status to another value.

Programs that were in the trash

With the 2025-Nov-05 update, the status of programs already in the trash was automatically changed to Cancelled.

Legacy Cancelled

With the 2025-Nov-05 update, programs that were not in the trash but had a status of Cancelled were automatically changed to Legacy Cancelled.

You were able to change the program status from Legacy Cancelled to another status, or use the Edit Program > Actions dropdown > Cancel workflow to properly move the program to the trash.
