We've heard feedback that person matching could be improved when groups register, or when a retreat leader uses remote registration. Often, the group or retreat leader enters their own email addresses for the other members in their group, which creates unmatched registrations or person record mismatches.
This update is intended to address those issues. It changes how people matching works with group and remote registrations.
Here are the new rules on how person matching works for these specific situations:
Group/Multi Registrations
- If the sub-registration shares the same email as the group leader and no existing perfect match exists (same first name and email), a new person record will be created. (This is the new behavior.)
- If the sub-registration has a different email than the group lead or no email, then normal matching rules apply.
Remote Registrations
- If a perfect match doesn’t exist (same first name and email), a new person record will be created.
