We have enhanced the existing scheduled payment feature so that you can now schedule ‘Other Payments’. These transactions appear in the Scheduled Payments area.

For example: you can schedule a cash or check payment to be received on a future date. The payment will be set to 'scheduled' until the date that you set. On that date, it will switch to 'pending' because it is due to be received. Once the payment is received, you can go in and manually process the payment and update the status to 'complete'.
